What is the Linked Double Crochet (LDC)

And What is it used For?

The Linked Double Crochet is basically lining the side of the DC together at each stitch for a more sturdy and less holy project.

To Begin LDC: Make your chain

pull up a loop through the 2nd ch

pull up a loop through the 3rd ch

Yarn over, go through 1st 2 loops, 

yarn over go through the last 2 loops.

LDC:

Insert hook through the bar of the previous dc,

yarn over, pull loop through,

insert hook in next dc, yarn over, pull up a loop,

Yarn over, pull through 1st 2 loops, 

yarn over pull through last 2 loops.

Repeat On each dc across.

I was given an Air Plant For Mother's Day.

 It's so cute, and they even gave me instructions on

 how to care for it. 

I stitched up a little hanging basket for it.

And I love it so much!

Air Plant Basket Crochet Pattern

Skill: Easy

Materials:

 Crochet hook - H / 5.00 MM

Yarn- Med (4)

yarn Needle

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Single Crochet (sc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Single crochet together (sctog) sc descrease

Size: 5 inches around, 2 inches tall not counting the hanger

R: 1 - Ch 4, 9 dc in the 4th ch from the hook,

join to the 3rd ch with a slst, ch3 (10dc)

R: 2 - 2 dc in each dc around, join to the ch3 with a slst,

ch1 ( 20dc)

R: 3 - sc in the 1st 7 dc, sctog the next 2 dc 3 times,

sc in the next 7 dc, join to the 1st sc, ch 1 ( 17 sc) 

R: 4 - 1 sc in each sc around, join to the 1st sc (17 sc)

R: 5 - Ch 10, join to the same sc, slst in each sc around, 

sc 12 times around the ch 10, join, and tie off. 

Add a silly face and turn it upside down for air plant octopus.

When Does A Ch3 Count as a Dc, 

and Where do I place My 1st DC.

When The Pattern States "Ch 3 Counts as a dc",

That means it is usually the 1st dc of the Rows. 

So you skip the 1st dc, counts the ch3 as your 1st dc,

 and begin stitching in the next, or 2nd st.
