Skill: Easy
 
Materials:
Crochet Hook – H / 5.00 MM
Yarn – Med (4) Cotton – C1- Red, C2 – White– 1 oz. of each color
Yarn Needle
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)

Slip Stich (slst)
Double Crochet (dc)
 
Size: 9 Inches across
 
Notes:
Ch3 Counts as dc
Rounds are joined to the ch3 with a slst
 
How To Change Colors:

Beginning stitching the 2nd dc,

only go through the 1st 2 loops,

 

Change to the 2nd color,

And Pull it through the remaining 2 loops

 

Color change complete.

This makes nice neat color changes.

 

 
Pattern:
 
R: 1 – With C1, Ch 5, join in a circle, ch3, 11 dc, join.
(12 dc)
 

R: 2 – Slst in the 1stdc, ch3, 1 dc in the same st as the ch3,
*Chgto C2, leaving C1 Attached, 2dc in the next dc, stitching over C1,
Chgto C1, leaving C2 Attached, 2 dc in the next dc, stitching over C2*
join. (24 dc – 12 each of each color)
 

R: 3 - Slst in the 1^st dc, ch3,  2 dc in the next dc,
*Chgto C2, leaving C1 Attached, dc in the next dc, 2 dc in the next dc,
Chgto C1, leaving C2 Attached, dc in the next dc, 2 dc in the next dc,*
Repeat From * to * around, join.
(36 dc – 18 each of each color)
 

R: 4 - Slst in the 1^st dc, ch3, 1 dc in the same st as the ch3,
1 dc in the next dc, 2 dc in the next dc,
*Chgto C2, leaving C1 Attached, 1dc in the next 2dc, 2 dc in the next dc,
Chgto C1, leaving C2 Attached, 1 dc in the next 2 dc, 2 dc in the next dc,*
Repeat From * to * around, join.
(48 dc – 24 each of each color)
 

R: 5 - Slst in the 1^st dc, ch3, 1 dc in the same st as the ch3,
1 dc in the next 2 dc, 2 dc in the next dc,

R: 7 - Slst in the 1^st dc, ch3, 1 dc in the same st as the ch3,

Chgto C1, leaving C2 Attached, 1 dc in the next 5 dc, 2 dc in the next dc,*

R: 8 - Trim:
With C1, ch3, Remove hook,

With C2, ch 3, Remove hook,

With C1, cross in front and st a slst in the next st, ch3, remove hook, leaving a loop.
 

 
Put your hook in the loop of C2, cross in front and st a slst in the next st, ch3, 

remove, hook leaving a loop.
 
 

With C1, ch 3, cross in front and st a slst in the next st, ch4, remove hook, leaving a loop.
 
 Continue to repeat around.
 

 
Join to the ch3 of the matching color.
