I am so in love with the Funky Chunky Poncho

 Crochet Pattern. 

Yes, I designed this one for me.

It's a quick pattern to stitch up, and has a "Retro

 Hippie Vive to it, which I Love. 

I wanted it to be designed with a super bulky yarn,

 and The Anniversary cakes from Yarnspirations / 

Caron are perfect for this project. Although any Super

 Bulky (6) yarn will work for this project.

I have been working On The Crochet Pattern design 

For About a year. I wanted it to be roomy, comfortable 

and fun to wear, so I designed it in  3 sizes -

Size 1 - XS/S  – 21 inch neck opening
Size 2 – M/ L – 25 inch neck opening
Size 3 – Xl/ 2 XL – 27inch neck Opening

Now remember, everyone's tension might be different,

 so be sure to measure as you go. 

And of course the length is up to you.

Materials:
Crochet hook – L / 8MM
Yarn: Bulky (6) Acrylic – 20- 30 oz. depending on size.

                   I used Caron cake Anniversary yarn, Blue Berry Bash

Yarn Needle
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Foundation Double Crochet (FDC)
Space (sp)
Slip (sk)
 
Sizes:
The poncho has 3 sizes, This poncho is meant to be big, 
comfortable and roomy
Size 1 - XS/S  – 21 inch neck opening
Size 2 – M/ L – 25 inch neck opening
Size 3 – Xl/ 2 XL – 27inch neck Opening
3 chs = 1 inch
Each Row is about 1 inch
Poncho is Written for Size 1, (with Size 2 and 3 in parenthesis)
 
Notes:
Ch 3 Counts as dc
Rows are joined to the ch3 with a slst
 
Pattern:
R: 1 – FDC 66 (72, 78)
Join in a circle, ch3, not to twist.

With Your needle and tail of yarn Close The gap.

R: 2 – 2 dc, ch2, 3dc in the 1^st dc, ch2,
*sk the 2 dc, 3 dc in the next dc, ch2 *
Repeat from * to * 9, 10, 11 More times,
 
Sk 2 dc, 3dc, ch2, 3dc, ch1 in the next dc,
 
Repeat From * to * 10, 11, 12  more times, join,
Slst to the next ch2 sp.
(2 sets of 3dc, ch2, 3dc and 20, 22, 24 sets of 3 dc)
 

R: 3 – Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in the ch2 sp, ch2,
*3dc, ch2 in the next ch2 sp*
Repeat From * to * 10, 11, 12 more times
 
3 dc, ch2, 2dc in the next ch2 sp,
 
Repeat From * to * 11, 12, 13 more times,
join, slst to the next ch2 sp,
(2 sets of 3dc, ch2, 3dc, and 22, 24, 26 sets of 3dc, ch2)

R: 4 - Ch3, 2dc, ch2, 3dc in the ch2 sp, ch2,
*3dc, ch2 in the next ch2 sp*
Repeat From * to * 11, 12, 13 more times
 
3 dc, ch2, 2dc in the next ch2 sp,
 
Repeat From * to * 12, 13, 14 more times,
join, slst to the next ch2 sp,
(2 sets of 3dc, ch2, 3dc, and 24, 26, 28 sets of 3dc, ch2)

R: 5 - R: 19 - Continue to Repeat R: 4 

increasing every row. 

Which will get you a 20 inch long poncho

Continue to repeat if a longer poncho is desired. 

After your last row, Ch1 instead of ch3 after you slst to the ch2 sp
 

 
R: 20 – Trim -
3 sc in the ch2 sp, *1 sc in each dc, ch 2 at the ch2 sp*

Repeat From * to * till you reach the corner,

In the 3 sc ch 2 sp at the  poncho point,

Repeat From * to * to the 1st corner , join to the 1st sc, 

tie off and weave in your ends.

Tie: With 2 strands of yarn, loosely ch 150 chs.

tie off each end with a knot.

Lace through R: 1 and tir in front.

Tassel: Make 2

Cut 2 pieces of yarn 10- 12 inches long- set aside.

Loosely wrap 2 strands of yarn around your hand 25 to 30 times.

 Cut.

Put one piece of the yarn through the loops.

Tie the other piece around about 1n inch from the top.

Attach to the ends of the tie.

I was so excited when I saw the

Anniversary Cakes By Caron/ Yarnspirations.

It is a Bulky (6) striping yarn

I knew it was the perfect yarn to update my 

Crochet Pattern The Hooded Wrap Blanket.

I originally wrote this Pattern in October 2015.

I Thought it was due for an update. 

We re-rested and updated the Crochet pattern with

 New Pictures, and A Brand New Video.

I Absolutely love How it stitched up with this yarn.

 It's called Spice Soiree With Shades of beiges, 

browns, yellows and cream.

It's Soft and Squishy and stitches up super fast.

Hooded Wrap Blanket Crochet Pattern

Materials:

Crochet Hook – L/ 8.00 MM

Yarn – Bulky Weight (6) 40 oz.

       I used Caron/ Yarnspirations Anniversary cake/ Spice Soiree

Yarn Needle

 

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Single Crochet (sc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC)

Skip (sk)

 

Size/Measurements - 60 inches wide X 42 inches long,

Not counting the hood.

Hood measures – 26 X 32

1 Row = 1 inch - adjust in in 2 row increments

2 FDC = 1 inch - adjust in in 2 ch increments

 

Notes:

 Ch3 at ends of Rows Does Count as a Dc.

 

Pattern:

Starting with the Blanket Wrap –

 

R: 1 - Ch 87, 1 dc in the 4th ch from the hook,

1 dc in the each ch across, ch 3 turn.

(85 sts - You will have the same number

 of sts throughout the blanket)

 

R: 2 – 1 dc in the next dc, sk the next dc,

*1 dc in the next dc, ch 1, sk next dc*

Repeat From * to * Across Row,

 1 dc in the last 2 dc, ch 3 turn

 

 R: 3 – 1 dc in each dc and ch across, Ch 3 turn

 

R: 4 – Repeat R: 2

 

R: 5 –  Repeat R: 3

 

R: - 6 – R: 61 – Continue to Repeat R: 2 – R: 3,

Alternating Rows

 

If you want your Blanker wider,

add more rows in 2 row increments

 

R: 62 – With C3, dc evenly across the

bottom edge of the blanket,

 ch 3, turn

You will need 101 dc.

 

R: 63 – 1 dc in the 1^st dc, *

1 FPDC in the next dc, 1 dc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * across Row, 1 dc in the last dc.

 

R: 64 - 1 dc in the 1^st dc, *

1 BPDC in the next dc, 1 dc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * across Row, 1 dc in the last dc.

 Tie off, weave in the end.

 

 

 

The Hood Section:

R: 65 – With C3, ch 31, 1 dc in the 4^th ch from the hook,

 1 dc in each ch across,  2 dc in the last ch, turn, (30 dc)

 

Working down the opposite side of the ch,

2 dc in the 1^st ch, 1 dc in each ch across,  ch 3, turn (30 dc)

(30 dc + 30 dc + 60 dc)

 

R: 66 – 1 dc in each dc, ch 3, turn

 

R: 67 - R: 78 – Repeat R: 66

 

R: 79 -1 dc in the 1^st dc, *

1 BPDC in the next dc, 1 dc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * across Row, 1 dc in the last dc.

 

R: 80 - 1 dc in the 1^st dc, *

1 FPDC in the next dc, 1 dc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * across Row, 1 dc in the last dc.

Leave yarn attached

 

 

 

Center the hood in the center of the top of the Blanket

Sew Hood to Blanket using sc sts.

 

 

 

R: 81 – Attach yarn to bottom left corner, right side up, 

evenly sc up the side of the blanket, 2sc in the corner,

evenly sc across the top of the blanket, around the hood opening, 

and across the top of the other side of the blanket, 2 sc in the corner,

Lastly sc evenly down the side of the blanket, 

when you reach the corner, tie off and weave in your ends.

 

This is the perfect Blanket for a Football game,

Campfire or snuggling on the couch.
