Fall Colors

Fall 2010  Looking Down Our Street
Fall in Oklahoma isn't as Colorful as it is other places, but we do have some nice colors. This  a picture looking down our street. I think it is rather pretty.

Rosie  and Maximo
I brought Rosie and Maximo out front to play. We woke up to rain this morning, which we badly needed and more rain is coming. So I decided to take advantage of the break in the rain and let the pooches play in the leaves in the front yard.

Maximo did not like the wet leaves!!!!!
He just stood there and looked at me as if to say, "Mommy you have got to be kidding me, I am not getting my precious paws all wet!"

Rosie Loved the leaves!!!
She ran around sniffing and prancing around, throwing the leaves in the air, well as far as you can throw  wet leaves. She had a blast!

Maximo in the flowers.
Maximo jumped up into the flower bed thinking it would be dry there.  NO, he got his precious paws wet and just looked at me again, with those sweet sad eyes, until I went over and picked him up...but of course I took a pic first!

Rosie in the flowers.
I guess Rosie didn't want to be left out, she jumped up into the flower bed and started posing for the camera. I think this is her serious face!

Looking the opposite direction, up our street.
So even if we don't get all the reds, golds, and oranges in our fall folige that other states get.  I still love Fall In Oklahoma!

They say the dog is man's best friend.

"They say that the dog is man's best Friend, I don't believe that. How many of your friends have you neutered? "  (this is a quote..not sure where I got it)

Meet Maximo Taco, He is a Chihuahua, a rescued Chihuahua, a dog model for Posh Pooch Designs, and was just neutered on Friday.  I had not felt the need to have him neutered because, Rosie our other Chihuahua is spayed, and they never leave the play yard.....or so I thought.

Maximo had become an escape artist, when I went out to check on him and Rosie, Maximo was out of the yard, and visiting the neighbors pretty white Fluffy dog, who was in heat. So I felt the only responsible thing to do was get him neutered. In Maximo's defence, the White fluffy dog was out of her yard, as well.

When I picked him up from the Vet. he looked so
pitiful,
Then he looked at me with those eyes as if to say,
"Mommy, what have you done to me?"  So I held him in my arms all night.
Now three days later, He is feeling much better. Not back to his old self, but better, and I know I did the right thing .

Dog Sweaters and Chemo Therapy

I had a very interesting day, yesterday. I took my mother to her first Chemo Therapy treatment . It was long and tiring, and about what you or I would have expected...except I decided to take my yarn and  hooks , and in my spare time work on Doggie hats and sweaters.  Only one visitor per patient was   allowed, so my sister, Lisa and I, were taking turns.
As I sat in Lobby crocheting doggie hats, several people asked me, "What are you making?"  or "Who has a head that little". When I told them I was making dog hats.. usually they smiled or laughed a little...and would tell me about thier own pets. Some would tell me about sitting alone with the cat on thier lap, and what a comfort that was . Others would tell me about the unconditional love of a dog. One nice old fellow told me "My dog doen't care if I have hair or eye brows..he just wants to be with me".
Before I realized it, I had become so inthralled with these lovely people..Cancer is a nondiscriminate disease....it considers neither race, sex, religion,  age , or money....it attacks without warning.
Dogs consider neither race, sex, religion , age or money either..and they love unconditionally..it is an odd comparison..but True.
