Crochet Hook - K
Yarn - Super Bulky (6) (12oz.)
I used 2 skeins - Lion Brand Wool-Thick and Quick
Blue and White (MC)
Yellow (C2) and Red (C3) 2 oz. of each color
12 X 12 X 1 inch Foam Cushion
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Double Crochet (dc)
Size: 12 X 12 inch Cushion
Rounds are joined with a sl st.
Ch3 counts as a Double Crochet
R: 1 -Ch 29, 1 dc in the 4th ch from the hook
(1st 3 ch counts as 1st dc)
1 dc in next 23 ch across, 2 dc in the last dc,
Turn working down the opposite side of the ch,
2dc in the 1st dc, 1 dc in the next 23 ch, 2 dc in the last dc,
Join to top of ch3, ch1
(29dc + 29dc =58dc)
R: 2 – 1 dc in each dc around, join, ch 1
R: 3 - R: 16 – Repeat R: 2
The Bag/ Cushion cover needs to measure 13 X 13 inches
to fit over the cushion.
The Big C Applique –
R: 1 – With C2, ch5, join ch to form a circle.
Ch 3, 11 dc in the in the circle, join, ch 3 (12dc)
R: 2 – 2 dc in each dc, join, (24dc)
R: 3 – chg to C3, ch3, 1 dc in the same st as ch3,
*1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st*
Repeat From * to * around,
Leaving the last 4 dc unworked, TURN, ch 3
R: 4 – 1 dc in the same st as ch3,
*1 dc in the next 2dc, 2 dc in the next dc*
Repeat From * To * around,
Ch3, join to 1st st of previous row.
Tie off and weave in your ends.
Place applique on the front center of the cushion
And sew in place with matching yarn.
Slide the Cushion inside the bag.
I left the plastic cover on the cushion,
to protect it from moisture.
Slst to top of the cover closed, stitching through
both sides of the top of the bag/ cushion.
Ch 25, attach the ch to the 1st ch, to form the handle.
Sl st around the ch join to 1st ch, weave in your ends.
