Snowman Jar Cozie Crochet Pattern

You can put candy, cocoa or goodies inside,
 or use it as Luminary.
Also makes a  fun pen, or crochet hook holder.

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet Hook – I/ 5.50MM  
Yarn- Worsted Weight (4) about 2 oz, total
           White - C1, Blue -C2, Pink – C3, Orange and Black - Small Amount
Yarn Needle
Jar – 16oz. Canning Jar
Led light

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Back Loop Only (BLO
Front Post Half Double Crochet (fphdc)
Change To (chgto)

Size: fits a 16 oz. Canning jay (5 inches tall)

Notes:
Rounds are joined with a Slip Stitch
Ch 3 after the color change
Ch 3 Counts as a Double crochet
Ch1 Does not Count as a st.

Pattern:
 R: 1 – With C1, Ch5, join in a circle. Ch3, 11 dc in the circle, join, Ch 3. (12 dc)

R: 2 – Dc in the same st as the ch3, 2 dc in each dc around, join, Ch1. (24 dc)

R: 3 – Blo, 1 sc in each dc around, join, ch 3. (24 sc)

R: 4 – 1 dc in each sc around, join, Ch3 (24 dc)


 R: 5 -  1 dc in each dc around, join, Ch3 (24 dc)

R: 6 - R: 8 - Repeat R: 5


 R: 9 – Chgto C2, Ch 1 , *1 hdc in the next st, 1 fphdc in next st*
Repeat From * to * around, join. (24 sts)

R: 10 – Repeat R: 9 (24 sts)

R: 11 – Chgto C3, ch1, 1 sc in each st around, join, ch1. (24 sc)

R: 12 – 1 sc in each sc, join, ch1 (24 sc)

R: 13 - Repeat R : 12, tie off. Weave in your ends.(24 sc)

Nose:
With Orange, Ch 4, 2 dc in the 4th ch from the hook, 
ch1, turn, slst in the next 3 sts, 
tie off leaving a 10 - 12 inch tail of yarn for sewing nose on face.

Eyes and Smile:
Embroider on eyes and smile with black yarn according to the picture,
using long stitches. 
Weave in your ends being careful not to show the black yarn through the White yarn.

Little Pompom:
Wrap 1 strand each of each of the 2  yarns, wrap your four fingers 12 -15 times. 
Cut a 12 inch piece of matching yarn and push it through the hole and tie the loops tightly. 
Trim loops evenly to form the pom pom. Attach to top of the snowman's hat.

Add a bow, button or flower in place of the Pompom 

Make a set to give as a gift!
