Meet Buzzy The Love Bug!

He will fly right into Your heart with its golden wings.

This is a super cute and fun Crochet Pattern
 that everyone will love. It's quick and easy
 to stitch up, and so fun to give.

It measures about 12 inches tall

 and 14 inches around.

The Love Bug is soft and squishy, 
and the perfect size for playing with.

I probably should have called it 

The Soft and Squishy Love Bug! 

I designed it with yarns I had on hand. 

Redheart Sweet Home in Berry Bliss, 

and Bernat Blanket Yarn in Cream and Gold. 

So Any Bulky (6) blanket yarn will work

 for this project.

Love Bug Softie Crochet Pattern

Materials:
Crochet Hook – N / 9 mm
Yarn – Super Bulky (6) C1 – Red Heart Sweet Home / Berry Bliss – 3 oz.
                                         C2 – Bernat Blanket / Cream - 3 oz.
                                         C3 – Bernat Blanket / Gold – 2 oz.
Large Safety eyes –
Stuffing- Polyfiberfil
Yarn Needle
Stitch marker
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Triple Crochet (tr)
Single Crochet 2 Together (sc2tog) Decrease
Change to (chgto)
 
Size: 12 Tall X 14 around Inches
 
Notes:
Body of The love bug is stitched in the round, no joining.
Mark the last st of each round with the Stitch marker
 
Pattern:

R: 1 - With C2, ch 5, join in a circle, ch1
10 sc in the circle (10sc)

Mark the last st of each round with the Stitch marker

R: 2 – 2 sc in each sc (20sc)

R: 3 – *1 sc in the next sc, 2 sc in the next sc*

Repeat From * to * around (30sc)

R: 4 – 1 sc in sc (30)

R: 5 – R: 6 – Repeat R: 4

R: 7 – Chgto C1, Repeat R: 4
 
R: 8 – Repeat R: 4
 
R: 9 – R: 10 - Chgto C2 Repeat R: 4
 
R: 11 – R: 12 – Chgto C1 – Repeat R: 4
 
R: 13 – R: 14 – Chgt to C2 – Repeat R: 4
 
R: 15 – R: 16 – Chgto C1 – Repeat R: 4

R: 17 - Repeat R: 4
 
R: 18 – *SC2tog with the next 2 sc, 1 sc in the next sc*
Repeat From * to * around (20 sc)

Place the Safety eyes in place on the front of the Love bug

And Stuff With the bug

R: 19 – Repeat R: 18 – (15 sc)
 
R: 20 – *Sc2tog with next 2 sc*
Repeat From * to * around (8 sc)
Tie Off leaving a 12 inch tail of yarn.
 
Add more stuffing to fill in the bottom.
Thread yarn on needle and gather close the bottom of the bug.
 

Add a sweet little mouth as well.

 
Wings: Make 2
Ch 4, (make all your sts in the 4th st from the END)
3 tr, 3 dc, ch1, 1 tr, ch1, 3 dc, 3 tr, ch 2, 1 sl st through the center of the heart.
 
SC evenly around the heart, place a sc, ch1, sc in the point of the heart,
Sc evenly up the other side of the heart, join to the 1^st sc.
Tie off and weave in your ends.
 

Thread a 12 inch strand of yarn onto the needle.
Stitch The 2 hearts, points together and st together.
Place on the back of the love bug and sew in place.
