The 2024 Crochet Square Crochet Along

 is well under way, 

but it's not too late to get involved. 

Come join us.

Each month we stitch up a 

6 inch Crochet Square together,

that corresponds with the month's birthstone.

The March Square Crochet Pattern is Aquamarine

 which is a beautiful ocean blue color.

I designed it with 2 colors, so the colors would pop.

 I really love the effect.

If you do not have these yarn colors, 

you can always use any colors of yarn you have or like. 

Just have fun learning this new style granny square.

Remember I am Making 2 of each Square,

Materials:
Crochet Hook – I/ 5.5 mm
Yarn – Medium (4) Acrylic - Aqua - C1 / Cream - C2
                       Red Heart Super saver
Yarn Needle
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Change to (chgto)
 
Size: 6 inch square
 
Notes:

Ch1 Does Not Count as a st

 Ch2 Counts as a hdc

Ch3 Counts as a dc
Rounds are joined with a slipstitch.
 
R: 1 – With C1, ch 5, join in a circle, *ch 6, sl st in the circle*,
Repeat From * to * 3 more times, join to the 1^st ch, 

slst in the ch6 loop, ch1 (4 ch6 loops)

R: 2 - *Sc, 2hdc, 3dc, 2hdc, sc, slst ch1 in the next ch6 loop*
Repeat From * to * 3 more times, join to the 1^st sc with a slst
tie off C1. (4 sets of sc, 2hdc, 3dc, 2hdc, sc, ch1)

R: 3 – With C2, join to the 2nd dc of the next loop,

 ch2, hdc, ch 1, 2hdc in the same dc,
*Ch2, dc, ch1, dc in the sp between the 1^st 2 loops, ch2,
2 hdc, ch1, 2 hdc in the next center dc of the next loop*
Repeat From * to * 2 more times.
Ch2, dc, ch2, dc in the sp between the next 2 loops, ch2,
Join to the 1^st hdc. (4 sets of 2hdc, ch1, 2dc, ch2 Vst, ch2)

4. Ch2, hdc, ch1, hdc in the ch1 sp of the 1st corner,

 sc, ch1, sc in the ch1 sp of the Vst, ch2,

*2sc, ch1, 2sc, ch2, in the corner, ch2,
2sc in the next ch1 sp, ch2*
Repeat From * to* 2 more times,

 join to the 1^st sc, slst in the next sc, slst in the ch1 sp,  tie off C2

(4 sets of 2hc, ch1, 2hdc, ch2, sc, ch1,sc, ch2)

R: 5 – ChtoC1 to the 1^st corner, ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc, in the corner
Ch2, 2 dc in the next ch2 sp, ch2, 2 dc in the next ch2 sp, ch2
*2dc, ch1, 2dc, in the corner,
Ch2, 2 dc in the next ch2 sp, ch2, 2 dc in the next ch2 sp, ch2*

(4 sets of 3dc, ch1 3dc, 5 dc, 6 ch1)

R: 7 – Chgto C2, Tie off C1, *sc, ch1, sc in the corner,
Sc in each st and ch1 sp across*
Repeat From * to * 3 more times, join to the 1^st sc,
 tie off weave in your ends.

Make at least 2 squares

You do not Have to block Your Squares,

 but they will easier to stitch together if you do.
