Skill: Easy

Materials:

Crochet hook – H/ 5.00MM

Yarn – Worsted Weight (4)

Yarn Needle

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Double Crochet (dc)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Skip (sk)

Size: 6 X 6 inches

Note: 
Ch3  counts as a dc.
Rounds are joined to the ch3 with slst 

R: 1 – A Circle -
Ch 5, join in a circle, ch 3

11 dc, join. (12dc)

R: 2 – Ch 3, 1 dc in the same st as ch3,

 2 dc in each dc around, 

join with a slst, ch 3 (24dc)

R: 3 – Making the Circle Square -
Ch3, 2 dc, ch2, 3 dc in the same st as the ch3 (1st corner made)
Ch2, sk2 dc, 3 dc in the next dc, 
*ch2, sk2, 3dc, ch2 3dc in the next st, sk2, ch2, 3dc in the next dc*
Repeat From * to * 2 more times, join to the ch3,
 slst to the ch2 sp in the corner

 (4 corners, 4 3dc groups)

R: 4 – Ch3, 2 dc, ch2, 3 dc in the ch2 sp,
Ch2,  3dc in the next ch 2 sp,  ch2, 3 dc in the next ch2 sp, 
*ch2,  3dc, ch2 3dc in the next ch2 sp, 
 ch2, 3dc in the next ch2 sp, ch2, 3 dc in the next ch2 sp*
Repeat From * to * 2 more times, join to the ch3,
 slst to the ch2 sp in the corner

(4 corners, 8 3dc groups)

R: 5 – Solid Row of Dc -
ch3, 1 dc, ch2, 2 dc in the ch 2 sp,
1 dc in the next 3 dc, 2 dc in the ch2 sp, 
1 dc in the next 3 dc, 2 dc in the ch2 sp,
1 dc in the next 3 dc, 2 dc in the ch2 sp,

Square 2 - The Solid Granny Square

 Skill: Easy

Materials:

Crochet hook – H/ 5.00MM

Yarn – Worsted Weight (4)

Yarn Needle

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Double Crochet (dc)

Space (sp)

Size: 6 X 6 inches

Notes:

Ch3 Counts as a dc

Rounds are joined with a Slst to the ch3

Pattern: Make 4

R: 1 – Ch 5, join in a circle, ch3, 1 dc, ch2,

*2 dc, ch 2* 2 more times, join, Slst to next ch 2 sp, ch3.

(4 sets of 2 dc, ch1)

R: 2 – 1 dc, ch2, 2dc in that  1^st ch2 sp,

*1 dc in the next 2 dc, 2dc, ch2, 2dc in the next ch2 sp*

Repeat From * to * 3 more times, join, slst to next ch 2 sp, ch3.

(4 sets of 2dc, ch2, 2dc, corner and 2dc)

R: 3 - 1 dc, ch2, 2c in that  1^st ch2 sp,
*1 dc in the next 6 dc, 2dc, ch2, 2dc in the next ch2 sp*

Repeat From * to * 3 more times, join, slst to next ch 2 sp, ch3.

(4 sets of 2dc, ch2, 2dc, corner and 6 dc)

R: 4 - 1 dc, ch2, 2c in that  1^st ch2 sp,

*1 dc in the next 10 dc, 2dc, ch2, 2dc in the next ch2 sp*

You may need to block your square- you do not have to,
 but it makes it easier when it's time to join them.

What is the Grantastic 2019 Crochet Along?

I will release the Crochet Pattern and Video 

for each Square on the same day, 

usually the last Monday of each month.

All Updates Will also be at This Blog Page LINK

Each month I will release a 6 inch Granny Square.

You will make 4 of each square each month,

 for a total of  48 Squares.

We will then make them into a Blanket.

6 squares X 8 squares = 36 X 48 inch blanket,

plus a trim.

You can make as many additional Squares as you

 would like, to a the Blanket Bigger.

And you can arrange your squares any way you like.

For the video demonstrations I will be making all

 my squares all in the same  color.

Red heart Supersaver (aqua)

We will be starting with beginner squares and move on to more difficult squares through the year.

 Each Square will have different Skill Level.

Square 1 - Basic Granny Square

What You will Need: 

Crochet Hook - H / 5.00 MM

Yarn - Worsted Weight (4) yarn

             28 Oz, 1488 Yards

I will be using Red heart Super saver (aqua)

Needle for weaving in ends

Scissors

For Blocking if Desired:

Blocking Boards

Straight pins

Spray Bottle filled with water

Size: Each Square is 6 inches

If Additional materials are needed, 

it will be listed with each Square.

Join to ch 3, slst to the next ch2 sp 
(4 sets of 3dc, ch2, 3dc)
