Oklahoma Graph Crochet Pattern

I am from Oklahoma,
and although I live in Colorado, now,
my heart is still in Oklahoma.

My Daughter, Elisabeth of
Lived in Moore, OK
At the time of the Tornado.
They did not loose their home,
But lived about a mile from those who did.

So I decided to create a
graph from the pictures
I saw on several facebook pages.

Here is what I came up with.
I decided on
Oklahoma Thunder Colors

I used:
 I Love This yarn -
Blue neon, orange, cream and black
H-Hook

42 squares across X 31 squares
Approximately 8 X 10 inches

 Each square= 1 sc

I think it looks great!
But something was missing.....

I embroidered the word
"home."
With black yarn using straight sts.

We are moving -- YIKES!!

My Husband and I are relocating to Parker , CO.
We found a wonderful house we love and are closing on May 31st.
This is scary, exciting and sad all at the same time.

The house is a Ranch style,
with a full finished basement with garden level windows.
Plenty of room with a nice big Craft/Yarn room for me!

But the truth is..I really love our home here in Oklahoma..
We have remodeled every room, putting a little "piece" of
ourselves into every room.
We have lived here for 16 years, and boy you can
accumulatea lot of "Stuff" in 16 years.
Our children grew up in this house, and I think I did too (sort of).

Yes, The new house is much "newer" and modern,
But I haven't learned to love it yet.
I am sure I will, once we get there and get settled.

I truly believe this house was meant for us..
Can you see the paw prints, in the lower right
hand corner in the cement pad.
The previous owner had a hot tub here,
I am going to put  swing or glider.

Here is the close up of the Paw Prints.
This just seals the deal for me.

Oklahoma Vs. Colorado

My husband loves
 the mountains
 and I love the beach.
 So we live in Oklahoma
 were there is neither.

This has always been a joke
between my husband
and I, as to why we live
 in Oklahoma,
But the real reason is
because our family lives here.

But it looks like we will be relocating to
 Denver, Colorado.

It is going to be hard.
....not the move.
...the leaving.

My sister, Mom and me
I will be leaving my sister and my mom.

I will be leaving my Grandkids, Daughter and Son-in-law.

I will also be leaving
my church Family At Eastland Baptist Church

I became a part of this church 40 years ago,
as a child, I and my sisters began to ride the church bus to Sunday school.
My Mother, came to church , when the new Pastor came.
His name was Dave Hardy.
We began attending every Sunday Morning , Sunday night and wed.
And became very active at the church,
Which wasn't easy for a single mother of 4 girls, in those days.

I grew up at Eastland Baptist church, I learned about the Lord,
I  learned about standards,  missions and tithing
and  The King James Bible..
When I was 15, the youth director's wife, lead me to the Lord..
I was baptized in the "old green auditorium".

I married a Christian man, my husband being the USAF
we traveled a lot, always went to good churches,
 but never one like EASTLAND.

Upon retiring from the USAF we decided to settle
back in Oklahoma, because of the my family, yes,
But, also because of  the church.

My daughter was married at this church, in the Blue Auditorium,
and I have seen several of my nieces and nephews saved and baptized
here, as well.  So alot of my heart is here.

A Pastor preached a sermon once, that was titled,
"Sometimes God Asks us to do hard things."

I Love my Church..
And Leaving is a "hard thing!"

And to answer the Question, "Is this God's Will".
Yes, It is God's will for me to be were my husband is.

Colorado...Here we come,
Are you ready for us!

Oklahoma IS Beautiful!

Here in Oklahoma we do not have the majestic mountains of Colorado or South Dakota. We do not have the sandy beaches of the coastal States. Nor do we have the Great Trees of Washington State or Utah, but what we do have is the Colorful, Beautiful and even sometimes ugly Red Bud Trees indigenous to our State.

We visited our grandchildren today. It is a little over 100 miles from our house
to theirs. We,of course took our Chihuahuas,
Maximo and Rosie with us. The day was fun and way to short.
And so we headed home. Rosie sometimes has a sick tummy in the car,
so we waited till we got home to give them their 2nd meal.

It didn't matter Rosie got sick anyway, (gross,) so we had to pull over
and clean it up. As I was returning from the rest stop bathroom,
I looked up across the street. I saw the most beautiful thing.
Amid the trees that were still dormant from the
long cold winter, were gorgeous Redbud trees in full bloom.

Most of the year this tree is scraggly, crooked and bent by the winds that whip
across our flat state. Most of the other trees around them were still not awaken,
only small amounts of little buds, barely making their appearance, could be
seen on a few trees around them.

The Tree is called a Redbud, because although the flowers are usually pink,
The buds themselves appear to be deep red. The shades of the pink. vary from darker
shades of pink to very light shades of pink. probably determined by the nutrients in the soil.

After, Rosie's little mess was cleaned up and I returned to the car, and we were driving down
the road, I continued to see many , many more Redbuds along the side of the highway. I tried to
count them but after about 100 in a mile I stopped and just sat mesmerized by the beauty.
