but it also makes a nice glass to drink a nice cold

 beverage from. 

It is also the perfect vase and planter.

And a pen, marker, pencil or crochet hook holder.

Add a candle or tea light for an evening get together.

They make great party favors or teacher gifts, too.

Whatever you are going to use yours for, they are

 fun to make and give as gifts.

I prefer to drink an ice cold tea from mine.

  of Jelly or Jams,

for a Cold Drink.




Either way, it is super fun to make. 
Keep it for yourself or give it as a gift.

Cactus Jar Cozie Crochet Pattern

Materials:

Crochet Hook – H/ 5.00MM

Yarn- Worsted Weight (5) Green and Pink

Decorative Button

Yarn Needle
Jar - 16 oz. Canning Jar

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Single Crochet (sc)

Half Double Crochet (hdc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Front Post Double crochet (fpdc)

Size: Fits a 16 oz. Mason Jar (about 5 inches tall X 9 inches around)

Notes:

Rounds are joined with a Slip Stitch to the Ch3

Ch 3 Counts as a Double Crochet

Cactus Cozy:

R: 1 – Ch5, join in a circle. Ch3, 11 dc in the circle, join, ch 3 (12 dc)

R: 2 – Dc in the same st as the ch3, 2 dc in each dc around, join, ch 1 (24dc)

R: 3 – 1 sc in each dc around, join, ch 3 (24sc)

R: 4 – Stitching in the BLO, 1 dc in each sc around, join, ch 3 (24dc)

R: 5 - *fpdc in the next dc, dc in the next dc*

Repeat from * to * around, join, ch 3 (12fpdc, 12 dc = 24 sts)

R: 6 - *fpdc in the next fpdc, dc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * around, join, ch 3 (12fpdc, 12 dc = 24 sts)

R: 7 – R: 11 – Repeat R: 6 (ch1 after R: 11)

R: 12 – 1 sc in each st around, join ch 1

R: 13 – 1 sc in each sc, join, tie off weave in your ends.

Flower:

R: 1 - Ch5, join in a circle. St 7 hdc in the circle, join, ch 2
(7 hdc)

R: 2 – 3dc, ch2, slst in the same st,
*slst in the next  st, ch2, 3dc, ch2, slst in the same st*

Repeat From * to * 5 more times.
(7 petals)

Tie off leaving a 12 inch tail of yarn for sewing on cactus cozy.
