The Canning jar is great for canning, of course, 

but it also makes a nice glass to drink a nice cold

 beverage from. 

It is also the perfect vase and planter.

And a pen, marker, pencil or crochet hook holder.

Add a candle or tea light for an evening get together.

They make great party favors or teacher gifts, too.

Whatever you are going to use yours for, they are

 fun to make and give as gifts.

I prefer to drink an ice cold tea from mine.

Pineapple Jar Cozie Crochet Pattern

🍍Summer is coming and I need some fun cozies for my

 mason jars, for all those cold drinks.🍍

This Cozie 

fits a 
standard 16 oz 
canning jar.

I used a screw driver
 and a hammer 
to make the hole
 in the top
for the straw. 

The Cozie measures
 About 5 inches tall
 X  9 inches around

Skill: Easy

Materials:

Crochet Hook – H/ 5.00MM

Yarn – Worsted weight (4) 3 Colors – Yellow – C1, Gold – C2, Green – C3

             I used Red Heart Super Saver (Cotton yarn will work also)

Yarn Needle

Mason Jar with Lid – 16 oz.
A Straw

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Single Crochet (sc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Skip (sk)

Space (sp)

Change to (chgto)

Shel Stitch (shst) – 3 dc in the same st

Size: Fits a 16 oz. Mason Jar

         About 5 inches tall X  9 inches around

Notes:

Chain 3 Counts as a dc

Ch1 does not count as a stitch

Rounds are joined with a slst
Leave C1 and C2 attached

Pattern:

R: 1 – With C1, Ch 5, join in a circle.

Ch3, 11 dc in the circle, join to ch 3, ch3. (12 dc)

R: 2 – 1 dc in the same st as ch3, 2 dc in each dc around, join, ch1 (24 dc)

R: 3 -2 sc in the 1^st dc, *1 sc in the next dc, 2 sc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * around, join to 1^st sc, ch1 (36sc)

R: 4 – 1 sc in the 1^st sc, *sk 2 dc, shst in the next dc, sk 2 dc, sc in the next dc*

Repeat From * to * 5 times, join to 1^st sc (6 shsts)

R: 5 - Join in C2 leaving C1 attached,

*Sc in the 1st sc, ch2, sc in the 2^nd dc of the next shst, ch2*

Repeat From * to * 5 more times, ch2, join to 1^st sc

R: 6 –Chgto  C1, ch3, 2 dc in the 1st sc, sc in the next sc,
*3 dc in the 1st sc, sc in the next sc*
Repeat From * to * 4 more times, join to ch 3
(6 shst)

R: 7 – Chgto C2, ch1, sc 1st sc, ch2, sc in the 2nd dc of the next shst, ch2,
*sc in the next sc, ch2, sc in the 2nd dc of the next shst, ch2*
REpeat From * to * around, join to 1st sc. (16sc)

R: 8 – Chgto C1, Repeat R : 6

R: 9 – Chgto C2, Repeat R: 7

R: 10 – Chgto C1, Repeat R: 6

R: 11 – Chgto C2, Repeat R: 7

R: 12 – Chgto C1, Repeat R: 6

R: 13 - Chgto C2, Repeat R: 7

R: 14 – Chgto C3, 2 sc in each ch2 sp around, join to 1^st sc, tie off weave in your ends.

Leaf: Make 3 –

With C3, ch 9, slst in the 2^nd ch from the hook, 1 sl st in the next 2 chs, sc in the last 5 chs,

Turn working down the opposite side of the ch,

1 sc in the next 5 sc, 1 slst in the last 3 chs, join with a slst to the 1^st slst.
Tie off weave in your end. leave the beginning tail for attaching to the cozie.

 Attach the leaves to the front of the Jar cover.

Now, fill it with your favorite cold drink, 

put the lid on, add a straw and 

start relaxing.
