Dog Diaper for Small Dogs Crochet Pattern By Sara Sach | Posh Pooch Designs

The Doggie Diaper is designed for Small Female Dogs
 in heat or with potty issues.
I originally designed this for my 
Rosie when her glands burst and 
she had to have surgery.

It has a nice tail hole for a comfy fit.
And Can be adjusted within the size.
The Pattern has 3 Sizes - 
Extra Small, Small and Medium 
for Dogs from 4 - 15 pounds.

Dog Diaper for Small Dogs Crochet Pattern

Skill: Easy to Moderate...not hard, but a little tricky at times,
Because dogs are shaped weird. 

Material:
Hook : H
Yarn: Worsted Weight (4) -your choice of color 2 - 5 oz. depending on size
           Cotton yarn will work, I used Red Heart Super Saver
Yarn Needle
2 Buttons, 1 inch
Mini Pads - with adhesive

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Double Crochet
Single Crochet 2 together (sc2tog) Single Crochet decrease
Half Double Crochet 2 together (hdc2tog) Double Crochet decrease

Size: XS -4-6 lb. dogs
          S - 7-10 lb. Dogs
          M -11-15 lb. Dogs
From Waist to tail - 6(8,10) inches

Pattern Notes:
Pattern is Written For XS with Small, Medium in Parenthesis XS(S,M)
Ch1 does not count as a st.
Ch3 counts as a Double Crochet

Beginning at Crotch of the back of the diaper
Ch 7 (9, 11)
R: 1 - 1 sc in 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc in each ch, ch 1, turn. 
    (6,8,10 sc)

R: 2 - 2 sc in the first st, 1 sc in the scs across, 2 sc in the last sc, ch 1, turn.
     (8,10,12 sc)

R: 3 - Repeat R: 2 (10, 12, 14 sc)

R: 4 - Repeat R: 2 (12,14,16 sc)

R: 5 - Repeat R: 2 (14, 16,18 sc)

  
R: 6 - Forming First Side of tail hole:
1 sc in the first  7 (8, 9)sc, ch1, turn

R: 7 - 1sc in each st across, 2 sc in the last sc, ch1, turn.(8, 9,10, sc)

R : 8 -  2sc in the 1st sc, 1 sc in each sc across,  ch1, turn.(9, 10,11 sc)

R : 9 - Repeat R: 7.(10, 11,12sc)

R: 10 - Repeat R : 8(11, 12,13sc)

R: 11 - Repeat R : 7(12, 13,14 sc)

R: 12 - Repeat R : 8(13,14,15 sc)

XS and S Skip R: 13, R: 14

R: 13 - Med only - Repeat R : 7 .(16 sc)

Forming the 2nd Side of the tail hole:
Attach yarn to other side of the diaper 
and  Repeat R : 6-14 on the right side, Do not tie off

Working Up the Back of the Diaper:
R : 15 -  2 sc in the first st, sc across right side,
join to other side with a sc, and sc across, ch1 turn.
(28, 30, 36 sc)

R: 16 - 2 sc in the first st, 1 sc in each st across, 2 sc in the last sc,
 ch1 turn.(30, 32, 38 sc)
   
R: 17 - Repeat R: 17  - XS Skip to R 21

R: 18 - Repeat R: 17 - S skip to R : 21

R: 19 -Med only - Repeat R : 17 

R: 20 - Med only - Repeat R : 17 

R: 21-26 - No increase sts on these rows- 1 hdc in each sc, ch1, turn.
Repeat as many rows as needed for size:  
     R: 21 - R: 24 - XS
     R: 21 - R: 25 - S 
     R: 21 - R: 26 - Med

R : 27 - 1 hdc in the 1st hdc, *hdc2to the next 2 hdc, 1hdc in the next hdc*

Front of The Diaper-

R : 28 - Working on the opposite side of the beginning ch, 
attach yarn with a slip stitch , 1 sc in each st, ch1 turn
(6,8,10 sc)

R: 29 - 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in each st, ch1, turn
(7,9,11 sc)

R: 30 - Repeat R : 29 - (8, 10, 12 sc)

R: 31 - R: 42 - Repeat R: 30 for as many rows as needed size:
Do not tie off
     XS - R: 32 - R: 37
       S - R: 32 - R: 39
      M - R: 32 - R: 41

R: 32 - 1 Hdc in each sc across, ch 1 turn
           Repeat 1 times for S, Repeat 2 times For Med.


Waist Band and Button Tabs:
R: 33 - Ch7(8,11) slst in the 2nd ch from the hook, 
slst down the ch, I hdc in each hdc across,
Ch 7(8,11), Turn

R: 34 - 1 hdc in each ch, 1 hdc in each st across, 1 hdc in each slst, ch3, turn

R: 35 - 1 dc in each hdc across, ch1, turn

R: 36 :  1 hdc in each hdc across, ch1, turn

 Do not tie off, Sc
evenly  around the entire diaper, placing 2 sc in each corner,
Join to the 1st sc, tie off and weave in your ends.

Attach two buttons on the back of diaper as shown in the picture,
on the back of the diaper and push button through the tabs.
The Row of Double Crochet Stitches makes the diaper adjustable for a good comfy fit.

Note: Yarn can be stretchy, depending on what kind you use. 
if the diaper comes off, you can make a ch for a drawstring and 

lace it through the top and tie them on if needed.
Also, remember yarn can be stretchy, 
so if it is too big, go down a hook size or two.

Materials:
Crochet Hook – H
Yarn – Worsted Weight (4) – I used Red heart with love
            White, Brown, black, red and green
Yarn needle

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Double Crochet (dc)

Size: 4 X 5 inches

Notes: join are made with a slst

Pattern:
Heart –
R: 1 – With White yarn – ch 4, join in a circle, ch3, 11 dc in the circle,
Join to top of ch 3, ch 3 (12 dc)

R: 2 – 1 dc in the same st as ch 3, 2 dc in each dc around, join, ch 1
(24dc)

R : 3 – sl in the 1st st, sc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st, 3 dc in the next st,
2dc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in the next st, 1 sc in the next 4 sts,

2 hdc in the next st, dc, ch1, dc in the next st ( bottom point of heart)

2 hdc in the next st, 1 sc in the next 4 sc, 1 hdc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st,

Dog Ears – Make One on each side of the heart.
Now Turn your heart upside down.

1 hdc in the next st, 1sc in the next st, ch 1 turn

Embroider the face on with the Black yarn.

Lace And Buttons Dog collar Free Crochet Pattern | Posh Pooch Designs

When I take my dogs out to the park,
 to the Doctor, Shopping or just for a walk,
 I like to have something special on them.
Something I made. 
It is a great conversation starter.
Fancy or special little collars are perfect.
Rosie has an 8 inch neck 
This one is only 5 rows,
 super easy to make, 
and quick to stitch. 
And Totally adjustable for any size dog, 
cat or even human!
Rosie is sitting pretty, 
and Maximo Photo bombed!

Crochet Hook - G
Yarn - Sport Weight (3)- 1 oz -
           I used a variegated I had on hand
2 Buttons - 1/2 inch
Yarn needle

Stitches:

Skip (sk)

Pattern: 10 chs+ 9,   5 chs = 1 inch

Pattern is written For a 10 inch dog neck 
ch 50(10x5) + 9 = 69

R : 1 - ch 69, 1dc in 2nd ch from the hook, 
1 dc in the next 3 dc,
*ch2, sk2 chs, 1 sc in the next ch, ch2, sk 2 chs,

 we all have plastic bags  from shopping, 
we do not want to throw them out, 
we want to reuse them. 
But where do we store them. 
In a bag holder, of course! 

This Bag holder is very stretchy and will 
hold bunches of them!

Crochet Hook - H
Yarn - Worsted Weight (4) about 3 oz
          I Used I Love This Yarn - 1 oz of each -
           neon blue-C1, neon green-C2 and neon yellow-C3
          white and brown - small amount
2 Safety eyes
1 safety nose
2 pony tail bands
Small amount of stuffing to stuff head.
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Skip ( sk)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
V Stitch (V St) -  (dc, ch1, dc)

Measures - 18 inches long and 9.5 inches around.

Head - Stitched in the round.
R : 1 - With C1-yarn, ch 2, 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,

R : 2 - 2 sc in each sc, ( 12 sc)
R : 3 -  *1 sc in the 1st sc, 2 sc in the next sc,
 Repeat from * around, (18, sc)
R : 4 -  * 1 sc in the 1st 2 sc, 2 sc in the next sc,
 Repeat from * around, ( 24 sc)
R : 5 -  * 1 sc in the 1st 4 sc, 2 sc in the next sc,
 Repeat from * around, ( 28 sc)
R : 6 -  * 1 sc in the 1st 6 sc, 2 sc in the next sc,
Repeat from * around, ( 32 sc)
R : 7  - 1 sc in each sc, (32 sc)
R : 8-10 - Repeat R : 7 ( 32 sc)
R: 11-13 - Change to C2, Repeat R : 7
R : 14 - Repeat R : 7, tie off, weave in your ends.

Bottom of the Head -
 R: 1 - With C2,Ch 5, 9 dc in the 4th ch from the hook, join, ch3

We will use this to sew the bottom onto the top pf the head.

Eyes- Make 2
With White yarn, ch 4, 2 sc in the 2nc ch from the hook,
1 sc in the next sc, 2 sc in the last sc,
working down the opposite side of the chain, 2 sc, 1 sc, sc,
 join to 1sc, tie off leaving a 12 inch tail to sew eye on head.

 Ears - Make 2 - 1 yellow, 1 green
Ch 10, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc in the next 2 chs,
1 hdc in the next 3 chs, 1 dc in the next 2 chs, 2 dc in the last ch,
working down the opposite side of the chain,
 2dc, 1 dc in next 2 chs, 1 hdc in the next 3 hdc, 1sc in the next 3 chs,
 tie off, leaving a 12 inch ch for sewing on head.

 Tail -
Using 1 strand of each of the 3 colors, ch 18,
 sc in the 2nch from the hook, and in each ch,
 tie off leaving an 8 inch tail of yarn to attach to body.

Step 2:Head Assembly -

A. Sew the Eyes onto the front of the dog head. Place one safety eye in each eye.
B. Place the Safety nose on the head, centered between the eyes.
C. Sew on the ears, Placing one on each side of the head.
D. Stuff the head, loosely, Then place the circle bottom onto the head.
     Sew around the bottom edge.

Step 3- The Body or Bag:
 R : 1 - With C2, sc 30 around the 1 of the pony tail holders, join, ch 3

R : 2 - *1 dc in the 1st sc, 2 dc in next sc around*
Repeat From * to * Around, join, (45 dc)

R : 3 - Change to C3, ch 4,1 dc in the same dc as ch 4,
 *sk the next 3 dc,
V St in the next st, (dc, ch1, dc)*  Repeat From * to * around,
 join to 3rd ch of the beginning ch 4 (12 V sts)

R : 4 - Sl St to the 1st V St, ch 4, 1dc in that 1st V St,
 *ch1, V st in the next V St* Repeat Around,
 join to 3rd ch of the beginning ch 4 (12 V sts)

R : 5-6 - Repeat R : 4 With C1
R : 7-8 - Repeat R : 5 With C2
R : 9-10 - Repeat R : 5 With C3
R : 11-22 - Continue to Repeat R : 5-11 2 more times
R : 23-24 - Repeat R : 5 With C1
R : 25 - With C2, *1 dc in 1st V st,
1 dc in the space between the next 2 V sts*

R : 26 - Crocheting around the 2nd pony tail holder,

Finishing up-
Sew the Back of the head onto the back half of the body,
 using only 12 of the 24 sc.
Attach tail to back of the body at R: 2.
Embroider with brown or black yarn, under the nose, on the face.
Make  a Chain using all 2 yarns, 20 chs long,
 attach to the top of the head of the puppy, for a hanger.

Dog Bath Buddy - Doggie Puppet Crochet Pattern

This was really fun to design.
I actually designed this Crochet pattern about 6 years ago,
I decided  to update the crochet pattern.
We Re-tested, Updated and Re-edited the Pattern
It is a lot of fun to make, and play with.
It can be a bath buddy mitt for the kids to play with
 in the tub,or a puppet for out of the tub playtime.
I have designed the puppet in basic colors,
but it would be fun to see it made in  different colors.

Dog Bath Buddy Crochet Pattern By Sara Sach

Materials:
Hook - H / 5.00 MM
Yarn - Cotton Yarn / Peaches and Cream
            (White - C1, Blue -C2, Beige - C3, Red - C4)
Yarn needle

Stitches used:
Chain  (ch)

Double Crochet (dc)   
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Change to ( chgto)
Together (tog)

Mitt Pattern: 6 X 4 

Notes:
You will work the body of the buddy from the bottom up.
Ch3 Counts as a dc
Ch2 Counts as a hdc
When changing colors, ch 3 after the color 3
Rounds are joined with a Slst to the Ch3

R:1 - With C1, ch 30, join in a circle, ch 3 
1 dc in each ch, join, and ch 3 (30 dc)

R: 2 - R: 3 -  1 dc in each dc, join, (30 dc)

R: 4 - Chgto C2, Ch3, 1 dc in each dc around, join, ch 3 (30 dc)

Arms -  Make 2

R: 1 - With C1, ch 10, 1 dc in the  4th ch from hook,
1 dc in each ch, ch3, turn. (8dcs)

R: 2 - 1 dc in each dc, turn (8 dc)

R: 3 -  Chgto C2,  ch 3, 1 dc in each dc, ch 3, turn ( 8dc)

R: 4 -  1 dc, in each dc, , tie off leaving a 12 inch tail of yarn.
Weave in your ends.(8dc)

Fold the arm in half, meeting the sides together,
Sew the top of the blue sleeve closed.
Place on side of  buddy, and sew on.

Snout -
With C3, ch 5, join in a circle.
Ch 3, 9 dc in the circle, join and tie off leaving a 12 in tail of yarn.
place on the front of the face and sew in place with til of yarn.

With Black yarn add French knots for eyes and nose and embroider on mouth.

Ears: Make 2
R:1 - With C3, Ch 9, 1 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
1 hdc in each ch across, turn, ch1 (8hdc)

R: 2 - 1 hdc in the next 7 chs, 3 hdc in the last ch, join, tie off. weave in your ends.
place on top of head and sew in place.
Bow - ch 25, tie off. knot both ends and attache to the Bath Buddy

Chihuahua Christmas Ornament Crochet Pattern


The Chihuahua Christmas Tree Ornament 
is also a perfect applique.
And The little Santa Hat is fun and festive
 all by itself.
Make one that looks like your dog and
 Place the Ornament on your tree,
or add it to a Stocking, place setting, scarf or hat.

Materials;
Hook - G/ 4.5 MM
Yarn Needle
Yarn - Worsted Weight ( 4) A small amount of each :Beige, borown,
          Red heart Sparkle, White Buttercup
Stitch Marker
Stuffing - Small amount for head - Optional

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Single Crochet ( sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Double Crochet (dc)

Santa Hat : The hat is stitched in the round.

R: 1- with red, ch 2, 4 hdc in second ch from hook. (4 hdc)

R: 2- hdc in each hdc around. (4 hdc)

R: 3 - 2 hdc in each hdc around. (8 hdc)

R: 4 - hdc in each hdc around. (8 hdc)

R: 5 - (2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next hdc) around. (12 hdc)

R: 6 - Hdc in each hdc around. (12 hdc)

R: 7 - (2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 2 hdc) around. (16 hdc)

R: 8 - R:  9  hdc in each hdc around. (16 hdc)

R: 10 - Hdc in each hdc around. (16 hdc)

R: 11 - Change to the white buttercup yarn, sc in each hdc around
brim of hat, tie off. (16 sc)

Pom pom:

To make pom pom, wrap the buttercup yarn around your 3 middle finger
 about 10 - 20 times. cut a piece of the yarn about 9 inches long and tie across
the middle of the loops. Do not cut the loops or you will have a huge mess.
Attach the pom pom to the top of the hat.

Chihuahua Head: Make 2
Ch1 does not count as a stitch.

R: 1 - With beige yarn, ch 3, 8 sc in the 2nd ch, join in a circle, ch 1(8sc)

R: 2 - 2 sc, in each sc around, join ch 1(16sc)

R: 3 - 2 sc in the next sc, 1 sc in the next sx, repeat around , join ch 1(24sc)

R: 4 - 2 sc in the next sc, 1 sc in the next 2 sc, join, ch 1 (32sc)

R: 5 - Repeat R : 4, tie off (40sc)

Place the 2 circles together and sc around the outer edge of the Circles,
 leaving a small opening at the bottom about an inch long,
If stuffing - stuff as full as you like, then sew closed by continue the sc around
 the circles, tie off.

Ears: Make 2

With beige yarn, ch 9, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc in next 2 sc,
 1 dc in the next 2 dc, 3 sc in the next 3 sc,

Change to cream, ch1, 1 sc inneach sc in the top of ear,
 2 sc, 1sc in each sc, tie off
Sew onto the sides of he head.

Eyes: Make 2

With Black, ch 3, 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, join in a circle,
Change to white yarn, 2 sc in each sc around, join tie off,
Set on the front of face and sew in place.

Nose Stripe:

With cream yarn, Ch 11, 1 dc in the in the 2nd ch from the hook,
1 hdc in the next ch, 1 sc in the next 5 chs, 1 hdc in the next ch,
 1 dc in the las two chs, turn and slip stitch 3 times in the side of
 the last dc, place on front of applique and sew in place.

With Black yarn, stitch few long sts to make the end of the nose.

Sew on Santa hat with red yarn, then Sew on The Chihuahua
 ears with matching yarn.

Hanger:

With red yarn attach yarn with a slst to the right side of the back
of the hat, ch 10, attach to the opposite side of the hat with a sl st, and tie off.
Just the Santa Hat
Or the Chihuahua wearing the Santa Hat,
Both are Cheerful and fun!

You want Fries With that?

I Know they are totally silly,
but I had so much fun
making these 2 new designs.

My Models are such good sports!

Maximo in the Hamburger hat

I need to take minute here and just....
