Chihuahua Rag Dolls Crochet Pattern

I received a Special Request To Design a 
"Chihuahua  Lappenpop" or Rag Dog
Crochet Pattern.
I wasn't sure what that was.
So after a little investigating, I decided it was a great
 idea to design one that resembled my 

I am so loving how they turned out and 
I think my pooches like them too.
Just joking... giggle. They are unimpressed.
But I Love them!

Skill Level: Easy

Materials:
Hook: G
Yarn Needle
Yarn: Worsted Weight (4) – Red heart Super Saver (C1, C2)
           (Dark Pink, Light Pink – 2 oz. of each or
             Dark teal, Spring Green – 2 oz. of each
             Small amount of Black or Dark Brown)
Stuffing – Small amount for head, nose and paws.
Stitch markers – 2
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain - ch
Slip Stitch (slst)
Single Crochet - sc
Single Crochet together (sc tog)
Double Crochet – dc
Double Crochet Together (dc tog)
Half Double Crochet - hdc

Size: 16 X 18 inches

Body of Rag Doll:
Ch 3 counts as 1st dc on each round.
Join rounds with a Slst.



R: 1 –Starting at the bottom of the Doll body –
 With C1, Ch 33, 1 dc in the 4th ch from the hook, 1 dc in the next 28 dc,
2 dc in the last dc, Turn working back down the opposite side of the ch,
2 sc in the 1st dc, 1 dc in the next 28 dc, 2 dc in the last dc,
Join to 1st dc, ch3 (64 dc)

R: 2 – 1 dc in each dc around, join, ch 3 (64dc)
R: 3 – Repeat R: 2

R: 4 – Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 29 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 30 dc, Join, ch 3 (62dc)
R: 5 – Repeat R: 2

R: 6 - Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 28 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 29 dc, Join, ch 3 (60dc)
R: 7 - Repeat R: 2

R: 8 - Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 27 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 28 dc, Join, ch 3 (58dc)
R: 9 - Repeat R: 2

R: 10 - Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 26 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 27 dc, Join, ch 3 (56dc)
R: 11 - Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 25 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 26 dc, Join, ch 3 (54dc)
R: 12 - Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 24 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 25 dc, Join, ch 3 (52dc)
R: 13 - Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 23 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 24 dc, Join, ch 3 (50dc)
R: 14 - Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 22 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 23 dc, Join, ch 3 (48dc)
R: 15 - Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 21 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 22 dc, Join, ch 3 (46dc)
R: 16 - Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 20 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 21 dc, Join, ch 3 (44dc)
R: 17 - Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 19 dc,
Dc tog the next 2 dc, 1 dc in the next 20 dc, Join, ch 3 (40dc)
R: 18 – 1 dc in each dc, join, place the front and back of the body together,
Slst across the top sewing them together, tie off, weave in your ends.

Paws: Make 4
Paws are stitched in rounds.


R: 1 – With C2, ch 2, 6sc in the 2nd ch from the hook,
mark rounds with a stitch marker, (6sc)

R: 2 – 2 sc in the each sc around, (12sc)
R: 3 – 1 sc in each sc, (12sc)
R: 4 – Repeat R: 3
R: 5 – Change to C1, Repeat R: 3
R: 6- R: 15 – Repeat R: 3
Place a small amount of stuffing in the bottom of the paw, place the front and back together,
Slst across the top sewing the paw closed.
Sew the paws on the Body using the tail of yarn, as shown in the picture.

Chihuahua head -
The head is stitched in rounds


R: 1 – With C1, Ch 2, 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, place your st marker, (6sc)
R: 2 - 2 sc in each sc, (12 sc)
R: 3 - 1 sc in the 1st st, 2 sc in the next st, repeat around, (18 sc)
R: 4 - 1 sc in the 1st 2 sts, 1 sc in the next st, Repeat around, (24 sc)
R: 5 - 11 - 1 sc in each st around, (24 sc)
R: 12 - Sc in the 1st 2 sts, sc2tg in the next st, repeat around, (18 sc)
R: 13 - Sc in the 1st st, sc2tg, Repeat around, (12 sc)
Stuff the head, but not tightly, I light a soft huggable head.

R: 14 - sc2tg around, sew the head closed.
Tie off leaving about a 12 inch tail to sew head on the blanket.

Nose –
R: 1 – With C2, Ch 2, 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, join in a circle, ch 1(6sc)
R: 2 - 2 sc in each sc, join, ch1 (12 sc)
R: 3 – 1 sc in each sc, join, tie off leaving an 18 inch tail of yarn.
Place a tiny bit of stuffing in the nose, place nose on the front of the head
 and sew in place.

Use black or Brown yarn to sew on nose and eyes.

Ears – Make 2
R: 1 – With C2, ch 13, 1 dc in the 4th ch from the hook, 1 dc in the next 4 chs,
1 hdc in the next 3 chs, 1 sc in the next 2chs, 2 sc in the last ch,
Turn working back down the opposite side of the ch,
2 sc in the next ch, 1 sc in the next 2 chs, 1 hdc in the next 3 chs, 1 dc in the next 5

R: 2 – ch to C1, evenly st 4 sc across the bottom edge of the ear, Turn
1 sc in next 11 sts, 2sc in the next st, ch 1, 2 sc in the next st, 1 sc in the last 11 sts
Join to the 1st sc, tie off leaving an 18 inch tail yarn.
Use the tail of Yarn to sew the ears on each side of the head.

Tail –
With C2, Ch 17, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 sc in the next 4 chs,
1 hdc in the next 5 chs, 1 dc in the next 5 chs, tie off and leave a 12 inch tail of yarn.
 Place the tail on the back of the Doll and sew in place.
