Cocoon Dog Beds Crochet Pattern

We Have just re-tested, re-edited and up dated this pattern.
We added more pictures
And a Video to help you.
The Dog Bed is designed in 2 sizes, a 22 inch 
and a 16 inch.
Maximo likes the medium one.
Rosie slept in the small one when she was a baby, 
but is too big for it now.
Although I designed this For little Dogs, 
it also works great for baby dolls 
and Stuffed animal beds

Cocoon Dog Beds  
The Crochet Pattern contains both the Small and Med. instructions for the Cocoon's.

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet Hook - L/ 8.00 MM
2 skeins of Worsted weight yarn (4) 6 oz.
                     2 strands of yarn will be used to stitch the entire cocoon.
Yarn Needle

Stitches:
Chain, (ch)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Double Crochet (dc)

Size: 16 inch Small Dogs,
         22 inch- Medium Dogs

Notes: 
Cocoons are stitched using 2 strands of yarns.
Rounds are joined with a sl st
Ch 2 does not count as a st
Ch 3 does not Count as a st

Pattern:
Ch 29 for small, 39 for med

R: 1 - 3 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook, 1 hdc in each ch, 6 hdc in the last ch,
working down the opposite side of the ch, 1 hdc in each ch, 3 hdc in the last ch,
 Join to 1st hdc, ch 2
 (Small 64hdc, Medium 84hdc)

R: 2 - *2 hdc in the 1st hdc, 1 hdc in the next hdc,
2 hdc in the next hdc, 1 hdc in the next 26 hdc (36 hdc-med)
 2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st*
 Repeat From * to * 1 time. Join to the 1st hdc.
(Small 72hdc, Medium 92hdc)

R: 3 – *2 hdc in the 1st hdc, 1 hdc in the next hdc,
2 hdc in the next hdc, 1 hdc in the next 30 hdc (40hdc-med)
 2 hdc in the next st, 1 hdc in the next st, 2 hdc in the next st*
 Repeat From * to * 1 time. Join to the 1st hdc.
 (Small 80hdc, Medium 100 hdc)

R: 4 - 1 dc in each hdc, join to 1st hdc, ch 3
(Small 80dc, Medium 100 dc)

R: 5 – 1 dc in each dc, join ch3

R: 6 - Repeat R: 5

R: 7 - Cross stitch Row - 1 dc in the 1st dc,  
*skip next dc, dc in the next st, cross back and dc in the skipped st*,
Repeat from *to* around, join to 1st dc, ch 3.

R: 8 - 1 dc in each dc, join, ch 3

R: 9 - Repeat R: 7

(Skip to R: 13 for small)

R: 10 - Repeat R: 8


R: 11 - Repeat R: 7

R: 12 - Repeat R: 8

R: 13- 1 sc in each sc, join and tie off, weave in your ends.
This is the Small Size ( 16 inches)

Small and Large Sizes
These dog beds can also be made from your
 left over yarn.
