Loop It Striped Dog Mat
By Sara Sach of
What is Loop it Yarn?
Basically it is yarn, Made By Red Heart, with big loops,
that you use to finger Knit. It's a thick soft chenelle yarn.
Check out the colorways HERE

The yarn is a
 (7) weight yarn
 made of 100% Polyester.
 It is Machine wash
 and dryable.
Each ball contains
 3.50 oz. / 7.6 yards.

How do you use it?
Here are a  Few Videos my Marly Bird to give you an
idea how to use it. Click HERE

I decided since it is Wash and dryable to make a mat
 for my dogs.

Scissors

Size: 28 X 30 Inches
Each Loop is about 1 inch, 1 Row = 1 inches

I clipped open the 1 first loop for weaving in when finished.

R: 2 - Lay across in front of the 1st 28 loops,
a row of another 28 loops in the same color.
gently pull the loops through the back to the front,
R: 1 through the loops of R: 2

R: 3 - Lay across in Front of the Loops of R : 2,
another Rows of loops, but from Color 2.
again pull the back loops through the front loops,
Do not cup the loops of color 1

R: 4 - R: 5 -Leaving the 1st color still attached,
With Color 2 Repeat R : 2 and R : 3

R: 6 - Leaving Color 1 attached,
clip open the 1st loop of color 1.
Repeat R: 2

R: 7 -Repeat R: 3
You will change colors every 2 rows, leaving the color
from the previous rows attached, after opening one loop.
You only Open the loop on the end when changing colors.

R: 8 - R:9  - Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color2
R: 10- R : 11 - Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color1
R: 12 - R 13 - Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color2
R: 14 - R: 15 - Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color1
R: 16 - R: 17 - Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color2
R: 18 - R: 19 -  Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color1
R: 20 - R: 21 - Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color2
R: 22 - R: 23 - Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color1
R: 24 - R: 25 - Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color2
R: 26 - R: 27 - Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color1
R: 28 - R: 29 - Repeat R: 6 and R: 7 With Color2
R: 30 - Repeat R: 6

Binding Off -
Starting at the opposite end mat from where you ended.
Loop the 2nd loop through the 1st loop,
Then loop the 3rd loop through the 2nd loop,
Keep looping the loops to form a braid or
chain across the top of the mat.
When you reach the last loop,
You will met up from where ended our last row.
Cut the yarn after the the 1st loop next to the mat, cut the loop open
and push the end through the last loop on the chain we formed across the top.
Use any crochet hook to weave in the this end, and any ends you have.

Maximo and Rosie seem to really
 like the new mat.

I made a mat to donate to a charity fundraiser. My edges curled. Have you found this to happen? I do not get enjoyment from loop-it.

I am having lots of fun making my little blanket. I used the purple/pink and white combo colors and it's adorable. I used a small book to help keep it flat while i worked on it. I may give it to my friends little girl who will be one in Sept. Perfect size for her to carry and cuddle with! Thank you for the instructions.
