I designed this washcloth in pink because 

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

We want to bring awareness to Breast Cancer, 

and many other Cancers have touched

 so many of us. 

Please note that this washcloth can made in any colors

 for any ribbon awareness colors.

Here is  Chart I found with many of them.

I chose the Cross Over Stitch pattern because it 

resembles a "pink ribbon". When My sweet momma

 was going through Chemo I would go with her, and 

there were many time I would grab a napkin or paper towel

 to was her face or hands, and wish I had a soft cloth. 

For The card I went online an searched for a 

pink ribbon free image.

 There are a lot of them. You can copy it and punch

 a hole to lace the ribbon through.

The Pink Blush Washcloth is perfect gift for anyone 

going through any cancer or illness. A soft cloth

 is personal gift that will be appreciated and needed.

You can Put together  lovely basket of things and add

 a few of them cloths and some nice lotions

 and soft soaps.

Skill: Easy

Materials:
Crochet hook – H / 5.00 mm
Yarn – Cotton Med (4) 2 oz. Crafters Secret / Candy Pink
Yarn Needle
14 - 18 inch piece of thin ribbon to match (2/8 inch)
 
Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Front Loop Only (FLO)
Back Loop Only (BLO)
Space (sp)
Skip (sk)
 
Size: 10 X 10 Inches
 
Notes:
Ch1 Does Not Count as a st
Ch3 Counts as a dc
 
Pattern:

R: 1 – Ch 34, dc in the 4^th ch from the hook, 

dc in each ch across, turn, ch 1 (32dc)

R: 2 – BLO, 1 sc in each dc across, turn, ch3 (BLO, 32 sc)

R: 3 – 1 dc in the next 2 dc,
*sk the next dc, dc in the next dc, cross back around and dc in the sk st*
Repeat From * to * 12 More Times, 1 dc in the last 3 dc, turn, ch 1
(6 dc, 13 crosses)

 
R: 4 – 1 sc in each st across, turn, ch 3 (32sc)

R: 5 – FLO – 1 dc in each sc across, turn, ch 1(FLO 32 dc)

 

R: 6 – Repeat R: 2
 
R: 7 – Repeat R: 3
 
R: 8 – Repeat R: 4
 
R: 9 – Repeat R: 5

 
R: 10 – R: 21 - Repeat R: 2 – R: 5  
 3 more times
 

Trim – Evenly sc on 4 sides of the washcloth,
place a sc, ch1, sc in each of the 4 corners,
Join to the 1^st sc with a slst, and tie off. Weave in Your ends.

Fold The Washcloth in 3rds and tie the Ribbon around and tie a bow.
Add a cord or note for the person you made the washcloth for.

 Cancer Awareness Ribbon With Wings Crochet Pattern

As a favor for a Dear Friend I pulled out my Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon, added some Angel Wings and some

 beads and made a Lovely Ornament.

When a tragedy happens, sometime it is hard to know 

what to say. Giving someone we care about one of these awareness pins or ornaments let's them know we care.

We are thinking of them and are here if they need us. 

 It can also be worn as a pin or added to any hat,

 scarf, bag or sweater.

But we need to keep aware of all the Cancers that

 people are fighting on a daily basis. I do believe that all

 of us have been touched by Cancer in some way.

I Don't hate many things, But Cancer is one of the things,

 I do hate.

The beauty of this pattern is that is can be used for

 any of the Awareness Ribbons.

Cancer Awareness Ribbon With Wings Crochet Pattern

Please Add This Crochet Pattern To Your Ravelry Favorites

Skill: Easy

 

Materials: 
Crochet Hook - H / 5.00 MM
Yarn - Med WW (4) Acrylic or Cotton (main color, white for wings)
Yarn Needle
4 or more small pony beads (your choice of colors)

Brooch or Safety pin

 

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Slip Stitch (slst)

Single Crochet (sc)

Half Double Crochet (hdc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Slip Stitch (sl st)

Skip (sk)

 

Size: 3 X 3 inches

 

Ribbon: 

R: 1 - With  Main Color - Ch 24, turn, 

sc in the 2nd ch crochet the hook,  

1 sc in the next 9 chs, 2 sc in the next 3 chs,

1 sc in the lst 10 sc, turn, ch1 (26 sc)

 R: 2 – 1 slst in each sc, tie off, weave in your ends. (26 slst)

Wings -  *With White yarn, – 

Center the top 3 slst, count down 4 slst to the right,

Join yarn to that slst, stitching up toward the top of the ribbon,

2 sc in the same st, 2 hdc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st,

Turn, ch3, sk the next dc, slst in the next hdc, ch3, sk the next hdc,

Slst in the next sc, ch3, sk the last sc, and slst in the next slst.

Tie off, and weave in your ends.*

Turn Ribbon over, working on the back side of the ribbon,

 and repeat from * to * for the 2^nd wing.

Cut a piece of matching ribbon about 10 inches, thread the needle, 

slide on 1 bead.

Cross the center and tack it in place, keeping the bead in the center. 

For A Pin - Add a Safety pin to the back of the Ribbon.

For An Ornament-  Cut a matching piece of yarn 12 inches long.

 Loop it through the top center of the ribbon, Thread on 3 beads of choice,

tie a knot. Tie another knot about 2 inches up, and trim top of yarn.

These Ribbons make wonderful gifts to remember those we have lost, but also they can be a great encouragement to those still fighting.

Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness

An Afghan made just for me!!!

When I came home yesterday, 

after playing with the pooches at the park,

 there was a package on my porch.

I had ordered some yarn from Joann's for 

Christmas presents,

and thought it was my yarn.

It wasn't..it was something even better then yarn.

It was this beautifully made Afghan.

Each square was made by one lady, 

and all the squares where carefully 

stitched together,

to form this beautiful blanket.

Each square has a tag to say who made each one.

Ladies, I don't know in person, 

 made this for me.

I am so humbled by their thoughtfulness.

My precious Momma had fought a battle 

with breast cancer,

 and she lost that battle  on July 16, 2013.

I miss her so much.

This beautiful blanket is a long distance hug 

from some wonderful ladies.

I Love that each square is different 

with different colors.

I Love the pooch appliques, too.

So much time and effort went to making this.

I am humbled by their care and thoughtfulness.

And as you can see, Maximo and Rosie Bell love it too.

These ladies also made a blanket for my Sister, Lisa.

I am looking forward to seeing the picture of hers.

She loves it. What a precious gift of love.
