V-Stitch Grocery/Produce Bag Crochet Pattern

I wanted a big bag for shopping
 that was pretty and sturdy.
So I designed one..
It even holds a 7 pound Maximo!
I had a lot of people asking for this pattern bag to be
 written for a chunky yarn.
When I saw the Red Heart Strata Yarn, I immediately thought
it was perfect for this bag pattern.
And it is!

Crocheted bags, sweaters or even collars are very beautiful, and look so nice on our dogs. And besides the fact these are beautiful, crocheted dog accessories are also very comfortable for our little or big animal friends.

I'm confused about something. Starting with rnd 6 you say to ch 4, which I assume counts as a dc + ch 1, then you say do work 2 dc between the next 2 dc of the previous rnd, ch 1 and repeat this around. But you don't say to add a dc in same spot as the ch 4 so that leaves one dc by it's self on one side of the bag but not one on the other. Can you explain it to me please? You can email me at
