Stitched in a wave pattern and has 2 fun pompoms.
I chose to use bright cotton yarns.
But any cotton yarn can be used.

This Beach Bag Measures 
Approximately 12 X 15 Inches
It is a nice Size. It Fits a beach towel, 
flip flops with room to spare. 
It also has a Phone pocket  that measures
5 X 4 inches on the front.

Pattern: Sweet Treats Beach Bag

Skill - Easy

Yarn Needle
3 fun buttons
Yarn - Worsted Weight Cotton -
             I used Bernat Cotton - Sweet Treat Variegated (c1), 
             teal (c2), pink (c3), Lime green (c4)

Chain ( ch)
Single Crochet ( sc)
Half Double Crochet  ( hdc)
Double Crochet ( dc)
Triple ( Tr)

We will be starting at the bottom of the bag.

R : 1 - With C2, Ch 31, 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across, ch 1 turn 
( ch 1 is a turning ch and does not count as a st). (30 sc)
R : 2 - 1 sc in each sc, ch 1, turn ( 30 sc)
R : 3-6  - Repeat R : 2 ( 30 sc)

R : 7 -1 sc in each sc across, st 6 sc across the end of the bag, 
turn and sc in each sc across the next side of the bag,
Turn and st 6 sc across the last end of the bag, join to the 1sc, ch 1
(72 sc)

R : 8 - Stitching in the back loops of  R : 7, 1 hdc in each sc around ,
 join ch 1 (72 hdc)

R : 9 & 10 - 1 hdc in each hdc around, join and ch 1(72 hdc)

R : 11 - We will be starting the Wave rows, Change to C3, tie off C2, 
Repeat the wave pattern around, *Sc, dc, tr, dc,* join to the 1st sc, 
ch 1 (72 sts)

R : 12 - Change to C1, leaving C3 still attached, 
(we will be alternating C1 ans C3 on every other row.)
Repeat the wave pattern around, *Tr, dc, sc, dc,* join to the 1st sc, 
ch 1 (72 sts)

Make sure you are stitching the Tr in the Sc of the previous row, 
and the Sc in the Tr of the previous row.
Your wave pattern should begin to look like this.

R : 13-29  - Continue to repeat R : 11 and R : 12, Alternating C1 and C3

If a longer bag is wanted, keep alternating until desired length is reached

R : 30 - Change to C4, Tie off both C1 and C3, 1 hdc in each st around, join,
 ch 1 (72 hdc)

R : 31-36 - 1 hdc in each hdc, join, ch 1 (72 hdc)

R : 37 - Change to C2, Tie of C4, 1 sc in each hdc, join, ch 1 (72sc)

R : 38-40 - 1 sc in each sc, join, ch1 (72sc)

R : 41 - 1 dc n each sc, join, ch 1 (72 dc)

R : 42 - 1 sc in each dc, join, and tie off.

Phone Pocket -
R : 1 With C4 - Chan 16, 1 sc in the 2nd ch and in each ch across, 
turn, ch1 (15 sc)
R : 2-7  - 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch 1(15 sc)
R : 8 - Change to C2, tie off C4, 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch1
R : 9-14 - 1 sc in each sc, turn, ch 1
Change to C3, tie of C2, 1 sc in each sc across, 
sc evenly across the bottom,
 then up the 2nd side, and then across the top, 
Tie off leaving a 20 inch tail of yarn, place pocket on the center
 of the front of the bag and sew in place.

Drawstrings - Ch 50 with C2, then ch 50 with C4, tie them securely together. lace the strings through, from back to front of R : 41, tie together leaving 5 inch string ends for attaching the pompoms.

Pom Poms - With C1, Wrap the yarn around your 3 middle fingers 25 times. With a * inch string of yarn, slide through loops and pull tight. Tie securely and trim pompoms evenly. Attach them to the ends of the draw strings.

Sew your fun buttons in place and you are ready for the beach.

 photograph this new bag, my dogs photo bombed it.
They think they should always be in the photos.
