Poppy Dog Collar Crochet Pattern \ Posh Pooch Designs

Poppy Dog Collar New Crochet Pattern Release

This new Dog Collar is so pretty and cute.
I think Rosie really likes it, even though she was
tired of having her picture taken.
This Collar will work for any size Dog, Cat
or even makes a great headband.

This new Pattern is  a slip on Collar,
so no need to remove the dog's everyday collar.

Skill: Easy

I used REd heart Super saver - Teal and Hot Pink

Stitches:
Chain (ch)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Double Crochet (dc)
Picot Stitch (pcst )

Size: Adjustable to any dog’s neck.
Measure your dog’s neck. 2 rows = 1 inch.

Starting With The Collar-
R: 1 – With C1, Ch 8, 1 hdc in the 2nd ch from the hook, and in each ch across,
Ch4, turn, slst in the lst hdc (pcst made)  (7 hdc, 1 pcst)

R: 2 – 1 hdc in each hdc, Ch4, turn, slst in the lst hdc. (7hdc, 1 pcst)

R: 3- Repeat R: 2 for as many rows as needed for your Dog’s neck.
I added 2 extra rows, (1 inch) for comfort.

Tie off leaving about a 12 inch tail of yarn for sewing the ends together.
We will join the ends together after the poppies are made and sewn in place.

Poppy: Make 4 or more
R: 1 – With C2, ch3, 6 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook, join in a circle.

R: 2 – *Ch3, 2 dc in the next st, ch3, slst in the next st* (1st petal made),
Repeat From * to * 2 more times for 3 petals. Join, tie off leaving about a 10 inch
Tail of yarn for sewing onto collar.

Adding The Beads:
Thread your needle with matching yarn, bring your needle up through the bottom
of the center of the poppy, slide on 3 beads of choice, bring your through to the
back of the flower and tie off, making sure yarn is securely attached.
Place poppy on the dog collar and sew in place.

Sewing The Collar Together: Place to ends of the collar together, wrong sides out.
slst closed, going through both sides of the collar ends. tie off, weave in your ends.
Flip right side out, and slip it right on your dog.
It is very important when working with beads or items dogs can chew on
that they are securely attached, and not hanging where their nails or teeth
 can get caught in them.
Make a matching set for you
and your pooch!
