The Theme and Goals of 

Posh Pooch Designs 

 has changed several times 

from it's beginning.

At First it started out simply making

 Dresses and Dog Sweaters, 

 and bandannas to sale in local Shops and pet care stores. 

It was a lot of work and  fun. 

But as people wanted more sweaters,

 I no longer make and sell the sewn Dog Dresses.

And I no longer sale in local shops.

 I sell the sweaters, sweater dresses, hats, 

and various Dog related crochet and knit items,

 online only.

It is still a lot of fun and work, but a lot less stressful.

Fans and friends wanted the Crochet patterns

 to make their own.

So, I began selling my

Crochet Patterns on Ravelry

As people began making my patterns, 

They began to ask for matching hats,  

fun hats and Character hat crochet patterns.

So I added a bunch of hats to the collections.

You can also find these and bunches more

 in my Craftsy Shop.

Then, I decided to Open an Etsy Shop.

 Where you will find Crochet Patterns and 

Custom made items for your pooches.

So you can make it yourself, 

or have me make it for you.

I will custom make anything you want for your 

pooches and cats.

Scrap Happy Poncho Crochet Pattern

Make this Poncho from  your left over yarn.

I think it will look great with jeans, 

or leggings, skirts and just about anything.

I did not add any embellishments,

like buttons or flowers.

 I think all the colors give it all

 the 'embellishment" it needs.

I worked on the poncho for

 several months, adding to in the evenings.

I chose to only use my solid

  Worsted weight (4) yarns 

left over from different projects.

Scrap Happy Poncho Crochet Pattern

Skill: Easy

Materials:

Crochet Hook - I

Yarn - About 20 oz Worsted Weight (4)

          Which is appox. 5 skeins of Red heart Super Saver

          or similar yarn.

Large pins - I used safety pins.

Stitches:

Chain (ch)

Single Crochet (sc)

Slip Stitch (sl st)

Double Crochet (dc)

Double Crochet together (dc tog)

Front Post Double Crochet ( fpdc)

Back Post double Crochet (bpdc)

Half Double Crochet (hdc)

Size - Youth to adult 

Measurements - Neck to point is 28 inch, Wing span is 44 inches

As you stitch up this poncho, I want you to relax and think of this as an art project,

 rather then a "Crochet Pattern". Relax, have fun and create a one of a kind,

 piece of Art that you can wear.

Note: ch1 is a turning ch, and does not count as a st.

The striping and color changes are going to be different for everyone, 

depending on what yarn scraps you have.

R : 1  - Ch 43, Starting in the 2nd ch from hook, 1dc in each ch, ch 1 turn

(42 sts - you st counts will not change)

R : 2 - 1 dc in the 1st st, *1 fp dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next st,*

Repeat From * to * across row, ch 1 turn.

R : 3 - 1 dc in the 1st st, *1 bp dc in the next st, 1 dc in the next st,*

Repeat From * to * across row, ch 1 turn.

R : 4 - *sc in next st, dc in the next st* Repeat From * to * across row,

Ch1 turn ( 42 sts- 21sc, 21 dc)

R : 5 - *dc in next st, sc in the next st* Repeat From * to * across row,

Ch 1, turn

Make sure you stitch a sc in a dc, and a dc, in a sc.

R : 6 - *sc in next st, dc in the next st* Repeat From * to * across row,

Ch1 turn ( 42 sts- 21sc, 21 dc)

R 7 - R : 121 - Repeat R : 5 and R : 6 Alternating rows

Tie off and weave in all your ends.

Make a 2nd piece the same size.

Measure your pieces as you go. And Block them after this step.

I dampened the 2 pieces and laid them out to dry, 

in the center of my living room, Shaping them some as they dried.

Once your pieces are dry, fold them like a V and pin in place.

place the front post end to the inside.

 Flip to the wrong side,and with yarn sl st the pieces together.

Then Flip back to the right side. 

This is not correct measurements for this poncho,

 It is a pic to help you see how the poncho is fit together.

The Neck Line- 

R : 1 - Attach your yarn to the center of the V on the back of your poncho,

dc evenly around the neck line. Join to the 1st dc, ch 1

Now you will need to relax and not worry about st counts,

 as much as placement of sts. 

R : 2 -3 -*1 dc in the next st, dc tog the next 2 dc*

Repeat From * to * around neck line, join, ch 1

R : 4 - 5 -*1 dc in the next 2st, dc tog the next 2 dc*

Repeat From * to * around neck line, join, ch 1

R : 6 - 1 sc in each st around, join, and tie off. Weave in your ends. 

Trim: 

R : 1 - Attach yarn to the "point" in the back of your poncho, 3 sc in that point,

sc evenly across the bottom of the poncho, 3 sc in the point on the front

 of the poncho, Then continue to evenly sc across the bottom of the

 poncho, join to the 1st sc.

Again, relax and do not worry so much about st counts,

 but on the placement of sts. I tried to place a sc in the end of each row.

R : 2 - follow this pattern  *hdc, sc, sl st, sc, hdc, dc, dc, dc* 

placing 1 st in each sc around the bottom of the poncho. 

This makes a nice wave pattern. 

You may not end up with the pattern working out perfectly, 

when you finish I didn't, Just join to the 1st hcd, 

no matter what st you end up on.

Although, this poncho took me a few months 

to complete, it was fun make.

Depending on the yarn I had left over, 

determined what colors I used.

So, it was fun seeing how the 

colors played together.

Materials:

Crochet Hook - H

Yarn - WW(4) 1 oz

Yarn needle

Stitches:

Chain (ch)
Skip ( sk)

Slip Stitch ( sl st)

Single Crochet (sc)
half Double Crochet (hdc)

Double Crochet (dc)

Crocodile Stitch (Cr st)

Size - Bandanna made as is fits a 10-12 inch neck

          To make larger - explained in the Photo Tutorial.

The  numbers are photo numbers,  not Row numbers.

R : 1 - Ch5, slst in the 4th ch from the hook, to form a circle.
St in the circle, Ch3, 4dc, ch1, 5 dc
(10 dc, ch1 - 1st Cr st made)

R : 2 - ch 3, 1 dc in the top of the 1st dc, ch2, 1 dc in the center of the Cr st,
ch2, 2 dc in top of the last dc, ch1
(2dc, ch2, 2dc, ch2, 2dc)

R : 3 - *5 dc down the 1st dc, ch1, turn and 5 dc up the next dc*, 1sc in the next dc,
( Cr st made)

   Repeat From * to * in the next 2 dc, ch1
(2 Cr Sts made)

R : 4 - ch 3, 1 dc in the top of the 1st dc, ch2, *1 dc in the center of the Cr st,
ch2, 2 dc in top of the last dc*, Repeat From * to * again, ch1
(2dc, ch2, 2dc, ch2, 2dc, ch 2, 2dc)

R : 5 - *5 dc down the 1st dc, ch1, turn and 5 dc up the next dc, 1sc in the next dc*,

1 dc in the top of the 1st dc, ch2, *1 dc in the center of the Cr st,
ch2, 2 dc in top of the last dc*, Repeat From * to * 4 times, ch 1

R : 9 -5 dc down the 1st dc, ch1, turn and 5 dc up the next dc, 1sc in the next dc*,
Repeat From * to * 6 more times. ( 7 Cr sts made) turn, ch 1

R : 10 - *2 hdc in the top of the 1st side of the next Cr st,
1 hdc in the center of the Cr st, 2 hdc in the 2nd side of the  Cr st*,
Repeat From * to * Around the neck band.

Tie off leaving a 12 inch tail of yarn. Place the ends of the neck band together,
Use that tail of yarn to sew together. Weave in ends.

And That is it! 

Just slip it on.

and if you use Red heart Super Saver --

it is machine washable!

No buttons, Velcro, buckles or snaps 

to get caught in fur or 

become chewing hazards.

Quick, Easy and Free Knitting Pattern.

This is a great basic knitting Pattern 

and can be a Beanie or a Slouchy Hat.

I really, really, really love

knitting with chunky yarns.

very easy to knit or crochet.

Circular Needles -US13-9 mm

1 skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease(6) - 87 yds - 4oz

1 stitch marker to mark rounds

Yarn Needle

Gauge -9sts + 12 rds= 4 inches ( Stockinette st)

Stitches and Terms:

Cast On (CO)

Bind Off ( BO)

Knit (k)

Purl (p)

Knit 2 together ( k2tog)

Size - Youth - Adult- 19-22 inch head.

Notes:

Pattern is worked  in continuous rounds,

Move your stitch marker up for each round.

Brim of hat will curl, That is a look we are going for.

R : 1 - We are starting at the brim of the hat,

CO 46 sts, k all stitches

R : 2-5 -  k all sts

R : 6 - p all stitches

R : 7-11 - k all sts

R : 12 - p all stitches

R : 13 -17  - k all sts

R : 18 - P all Stitches

R ; 19 -23 -  k all sts

R : 24 -P all sts

For The Slouchy Hat Repeat R : 19-24,  2 more times.

R : 25 - *k2tog 1st 2 sts, k next 3 sts* Repeat From * to * around,

knit the last st (37 sts left on needles)

R : 26- k all sts

R : 27 - Repeat R : 25 ( 29 sts left on needles)

R : 28 - k all sts

R : 29 - Repeat R : 25 ( 23 sts left on needles)

R : 30 - BO off, leaving a 12 inch tail of yarn.

Flip hat wrong side out. Thread the tail of yarn onto your yarn needle,

 and gather the hat opening closed, sewing securely,

 then Flip right side out.

Make a big pompom using the remainder of the skein,

 and attach to top of hat.

This is a fun knitting pattern to 

make for your dog, cat or any pet.

 The pattern has 3 sizes included.

Small-6-12 inch neck

Medium 13-16 inch neck

  Large 17-22 inc h neck

Striped Dog Bandanna Knitting Pattern

Materials -

Long Straight Knitting Needles- US10-6mm

Yarn - Worsted Weight (4) about 30 yards

            I used Red heart Supersaver

Yarn Needle

Stitches and Terms:

Cast on (CO)

Bind Off (BO)

Knit (k)

tog - together

Decrease ( dec)

Sizes-

Pattern has 3 sizes Small( Medium, Large)

S -2-15 lbs, M-16-30, L 31-50 lbs

Stripes -

The Stripes are made by changing yarns every 5 rows.

Pattern:

CO 50(65,80) sts

R : 1 - k all sts

R : 2 - p all sts

R : 3 - k all sts

R : 4 - p all sts

R : 5 - BO 1st 15(20,25) stitches, k the rest of the sts across row,

(35,45,55 sts left on needle)

(Change color yarn for 1st stripe)

R : 6 - BO 1st 15(20,25) stitches, k the rest of the sts across row,

(20, 25, 30 sts left on needle)

R : 7 - k all sts

R : 8 - P all sts

From here on out you will decrease on all p rows.

R : 9 - p tog 1st 2 sts, p the next  16(21,26) sts, p tog last 2 sts

R : 10 - k all sts

(Change color yarn for 1st stripe)

R : 11 - p tog 1st 2 sts, p 14(19,24) sts, p tog last 2 sts

R : 12 - k all sts

Continue to repeat R : 11 and R : 12,  

Stitching 2 dec every other row till you have only 2 sts on the needle.

k tog the last 2 sts tog, BO and weave in your ends.

Spray Block the bandanna.

The Collar portion is supposed to be rolled or curled.
